Additional Information

This test order is for provider-collected vaginal samples from patients with a hysterectomy. See NBLD0721 for patient self-collected vaginal samples for HPV testing.

 

HPV positive vaginal specimens will not reflex to PAP. However, providers may order a PAP on the provider-collected vaginal sample (co-test). If wanting both Pap and HPV (aka co-testing), order Liquid-Based Pap Test (PATH1021).

 

HPV Types Detected: 

  • HPV16
  • HPV18
  • Other HPV high risk; 12 other HPV types detected but not differentiated include 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68

 

Note: Acceptable performance of this test has been determined by the Sanford Reference Laboratory according to CLIA requirements.
