Test ID LBAN0004 Creatinine Clearance, 24 Hour Urine

Specimen Type/Requirements

Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma

or

Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum

and 

24 Hour Urine Container - Urine, aliquot from a well mixed and measured 24 Hour Urine

 

Include patient's height and weight and record total volume on specimen and order. Refrigerate urine during collection. No preservative needed. Mix well before aliquoting. If more than one urine container is collected, use proportional quantities from each well mixed container for the aliquot.  

Note: Blood specimen may be drawn up to 24 hours before the start or up to 24 hours after the completion of the 24 hour urine collection

 

Test is affected by hemolysis. Test is affected by lipemia.
