Specimen Type/Requirements
Gold top (Serum w/ gel) tube - Serum (preferred)
Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum
Lavender top (EDTA) tube - Plasma or Whole Blood
Separate serum/plasma from cells within two hours of collection.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing of specimen.
Samples collected in Lithium or Sodium Heparin will be rejected.
Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
