Specimen Type/Requirements
Gold top (Serum w/ gel) tube - Serum
Send serum in an amber vial or wrap a clear, plastic screw-cap vial in foil. Protect from light.
Fasting is not required. Patients should not take Coenzyme Q10 supplements the morning of the test. They may take other nutrional supplements prior to testing.
Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
