Lavender top (EDTA) tube - Whole Blood
Pediatric minimum – 1 full EDTA microtainer.
Positives should be followed by Hemoglobin Electrophoresis.
NOTE: This assay is not appropriate for children under 6 months of age.
Test is not affected by hemolysis or lipemia.
