Lavender top (EDTA) tube - Plasma
It is crucial to fill tube to capacity.
Immediately after drawing, separate plasma from cells and freeze plasma within 15 minutes.
If unable to spin down and separate, send the EDTA whole blood on wet ice within 1 hour.
Capillary specimens are not acceptable.
Test is affected by hemolysis and lipemia.
