Specimen Type/Requirements
Light Green top (Lithium Heparin w/gel) tube - Plasma
Red top (Serum w/out gel) tube - Serum
Gold top (Serum w/gel) tube - Serum
Specimen should be centrifuged and separated within 2 hours of collection. Draw post-dose 30 minutes after completion of IV infusion or 60 min after an IM dose.
Test is affected by gross hemolysis and gross lipemia.
