Additional Information
Test may be affected by gross hemolysis, gross icterus and gross lipemia. Either serum or heparinized plasma is able to be used for testing. However when monitoring a patient, use same sample type from draw to draw to ensure consistent results. Heparinized plasma values are approximately 10% higher than serum values.
This test should not be performed as an add-on test across specimen types.
