Sanford Laboratory Bismarck (SLB) is accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and is licensed under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).  SLB has served as a reference laboratory for healthcare facilities in Bismarck/Mandan and the surrounding region for over 20 years.  The professional client service team includes 6 board-certified pathologists, 3 board-certified PhDs in microbiology and chemistry, and technical staff that are available 24/7.  SLB’s laboratory professionals are continually educated in the newest technologies and innovations in laboratory medicine and healthcare. Sanford Laboratory Bismarck has direct access to numerous internal resources including infection control, hematology/oncology, pharmacy, radiology and patient safety.

Sanford Laboratory Bismarck is a member of a large integrated network of over 80 CLIA-certified laboratories. This enterprise network makes the expertise and testing capabilities of all 80 labs available to our client partners in 5 states. Sanford Laboratory Bismarck is licensed as an independent reference laboratory within Sanford Health.

The technical, management and support staff at Sanford Enterprise Laboratories is comprised of professionals with many years of hospital and reference laboratory experience. Included are phlebotomists, couriers, laboratory assistants, medical laboratory scientists, PhD scientists, medical laboratory technicians, client service representatives, consulting medical laboratory scientists, billing representatives, clerks, and information systems staff.  Sanford Enterprise Laboratories employs over 700 staff members.
